Ayurvedic Tips for Obesity

Who doesn’t wish to be slim? But today, we see half of the population suffering from obesity! Why is obesity increasing day by day?

The answer lies in our lifestyle choices. Consciously or unconsciously, we follow habits that are not healthy. Ayurveda provides simple and effective tips to help fight obesity.

Ayurvedic Tips to Reduce Obesity

  • Always drink lukewarm water, whether the weather is hot or cold. For better results, boil it with cumin seeds, ajwain seeds, dhaniya seeds, or methi seeds.
  • Avoid oily junk food, maida-based preparations, and heavy-to-digest foods like rajma, choley, dahi, kathal, cheese, and non-veg.
  • Avoid cold, stale food and drinks.
  • Vegetables like lauki, parwal, touri, and tinda are beneficial when prepared in soupy form. Avoid making them oily and spicy.
  • Use barley (?? ?? ????) chapati instead of wheat.
  • Avoid raw salads and uncooked items.
  • Use honey. Add 2-3 teaspoons of honey in normal plain water. Do not heat or boil the honey.
  • Use Triphala. Take 3g of Triphala with one glass of lukewarm water at night or twice a day.
  • Do not eat to a full stomach. Leave some space for better digestion.
  • Avoid sleeping during the daytime. Eat only when you feel light and hungry.
  • Walk 1000 steps after eating food. Do not sleep immediately.
  • Rub barley powder with its husk on your body before taking a bath.
  • Engage in yoga, pranayama, and running for overall health.
